Response to Intervention
As per the New York State Education guidelines, Tapestry Charter School complies with the ‘Response to Intervention’ model. Tapestry has three different ‘Response to Intervention’ (RTI) teams. These teams are divided K-4, 5-8, and 9-12. The RTI teams consist of both general education teachers and support service teachers. All children suspected of having a handicapping condition are initially referred to the Tapestry ‘Response to Intervention’ team. This interdisciplinary team explores innovative ways to address the child’s needs and document the child’s response to intervention. If there is no response to the interventions, the child is then referred to the Buffalo CSE for further testing and evaluation.
