Tapestry Charter School was founded on the belief that an educational institution could enhance the state required curriculum by providing an exceptional array of learning experiences for children in a small, nurturing environment. At Tapestry, that means rich opportunities for arts education, scientific fieldwork, inquiry, exploration and discovery. It means an atmosphere where teachers and students work together to create a community of learners all of whom feel supported by staff and families. It means students who are assessed by their classroom work, their contribution to their community, portfolio samples, and a teacher’s clear and personal understanding of them as individual learners. And most importantly it means the recognition of the strength of family and community partnerships to make it all happen. These are just some of the things that make Tapestry a unique place for children to learn and grow.
